The philosophy of this course centres on teaching the students the different ways of reading and the connections which exist between texts. There is a clear focus on understanding genre, whereby the students will become experts in these areas as they explore a plethora of texts. Study of texts with the chosen literary and cultural genres in the examined topic areas is enhanced by the study of critical theory in Non-Examined Assessment (NEA).
