Course summary
Unit 1: Investigating practitioners work This will involve practical exploration of a selection of practitioner's work, submitting your research portfolio, along with a final written document. This unit is externally assessed. Unit 2: Developing skills and techniques for live performance This will involve exploring existing performance scripts and developing skills and techniques required for a live performance. The assessment requires you to present or submit your knowledge and understanding of the performance skills. You will be assessed throughout your lessons on your rehearsal and performance skills. Finally, you will be expected to review and reflect upon your practice throughout by completing a performance log. This unit is internally assessed and externally verified. Unit 3: Group Performance In groups students will create a performance using a given stimulus. This is a practical unit, exploring ways to develop performance material; which is then presented to an audience. For the assessment students submit a 'digital process log': filming the development of your group's rehearsal process. This unit is externally assessed Unit 4: Improvisation Students will develop skills and techniques in improvisation, applying them to performance material. The assessment will include a review of your personal development during rehearsals, along with a final performance to an audience. This unit is internally assessed.
