Course summary

A-level French will allow you to broaden your mind and knowledge of French culture whilst perfecting your grammar. It will allow you to acquire different ways of thinking. You will discover new skills such as translation and will develop your speaking reading and listening ability. You will develop an analytical mind through various discussions. There are opportunities throughout the year to go on trips to the cinema theatre universities and conferences. Some students choose to go on a work experience placement intensive course or exchange to France. Students also have the opportunity to mentor Secondary School pupils during their course and involve themselves in various learning activities whilst passing on their love of the French language and culture to local primary school children. Students have numerous opportunities to develop their communication skills through written and verbal expression of their own ideas in whole class small group and one-to-one situations. Use of information technology and independent study are integral to the course.
