This course will develop both your analytical and creative skills as you learn to understand the media industry, its products and the messages they hold. You will learn media language tools and use these to interpret the messages communicated by media products such as Advertising, Music Videos, News and Television Drama. As you develop your understanding of the construction of media products, you will apply this to the creation of your own production work, developing visualization, design and editing skills using industry-standard software and equipment. Modules include: Media messages (News and Online Media, Media Language and Representation). Evolving media (Media Industries and Audiences, Long Form Television Drama). Making media (Cross-media product).
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including GCSE English Language and Mathematics.
A Level: Two written exams at the end of the two-year course (70%) and one Non-Examined Assessment unit (30%).
