This course is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction to creating IT systems to manage and share information. The content of the course has been developed in collaboration with employers and representatives from higher education, ensuring that the content is up to date-and includes the knowledge, understanding, skills, and attributes required in the sector. You are assessed with practical activities, coursework, controlled assessments, and exams. Units of study include creating social media systems, managing information systems, and creating systems to manage information alongside website development. During your two years of study, you will undertake a work placement. You will also hear from a variety of industry speakers and attend master classes, workshops, trips, and conferences.
Requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths, and may include a BTEC at a merit or above.
The course is assessed by a combination of written examinations, and external and internal assessments.
