Photography will introduce you to a variety of experiences, exploring a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. When you complete the course you'll be able to express ideas using a range of specialist photographic techniques in a confident and assured manner. This course offers you the chance to explore your own creativity, develop your ideas, think critically, and learn to express yourself artistically with growing expertise within an innovative setting. On our photography (lens and light-based media) course you’ll produce practical and critical work in areas such as portraiture, landscape photography, still life, documentary photography, photojournalism, experimental imagery, photographic installation, and film. You will learn a range of studio and outdoor techniques that you will use as a tool box with which to express your unique ideas. Researching the work of other photographers and artists is also an integral part of the investigating and making process, and you will put together a digital portfolio documenting your research and the development of your own work.
Students should have grades 9-4 in seven GCSE programmes, including GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics.
