The Extended Research Project not only awards an AS equivalent grade – with the accompanying UCAS points – but also prepares you for Higher Education by developing the skills you will need to work independently on a research project following processes appropriate to university level study. Choose the right title for your research project and you will expand your knowledge on a subject which interests you and which can link directly into your future study opportunities/employment. The Extended Research Project can complement any A Level. EPQ is usually taken in the second year alongside second year A levels.
At least 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-5 including English Language and Maths. You must be studying an AS, A2 or other Level 3 Qualification alongside this subject.
