There is a mixture of theory and practical in this academically challenging subject that works well when chosen with Biology, Health and Social Care, Business and amongst many others. Covering a mixture of theory and practical, in year one of the course you will study subjects such as Functional Anatomy, Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, Applied Research Methods in Sport and Exercise Science, Coaching for Performance and Fitness, Specialised Fitness Training and Sociocultural Issues in Sport and Exercise. In year 2 you will study Sport and Exercise Physiology, Field and Lab-based Fitness Testing, Nutrition for Sports Performance, Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Injury and Assessment, Sports Massage and Technology in Sport and Exercise Science.
Students should have grades 9-4 in five GCSE programmes, including GCSE English and Mathematics.
