This course is suitable for students who want to go on to employment or an apprenticeship within the engineering sector. You will gain an understanding of the engineering sector by covering topics such as customer and client requirements, principles of design, design processes and communication.
Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including Science, Maths and English.
There will be exams for the core components at the end of the first year and an employer set project devised by the exam board. This consists of a series of different tasks carried out under controlled conditions, allowing you to demonstrate core skills including Research, Design, Planning and Presentation. In the 2nd year you will complete an externally set assignment.
