Students seeking the skills and knowledge to start a career helping young adults, adults with specific needs, people with disabilities and the elderly. Units include: • health and social care values • effective communication • social influencers on health and wellbeing • the impact of nutrition • cultural diversity • diabetes awareness • dementia awareness • infection prevention and control • principles of safeguarding. You will have the opportunity to undertake placements within the charity, social and health sectors. You will also be encouraged to participate in National Health Service campaigns, raising awareness amongst fellow students as well as attending course-related trips within the local area and further afield.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English.
You will learn and be assessed by a range of methods including assignments, projects, presentations, role plays, displays and practical lessons. You will regularly review your work with your tutor and receive feedback on your progress.
