Course summary

Our Art and Photography A-levels are designed to stretch your creative talents and develop your technical abilities. Intended for those looking to harness their skills or seek a career in the creative industries, our Art and Photography A-levels provide you with the knowledge and ability to progress directly onto university or straight into industry. Delivered by experts within their fields, our supportive tutors will work with you individually to bring out the very best of your abilities. You will benefit from a wide range of specialist facilities including a traditional photography darkroom, state-of-the-art image editing software and creative workshop environments. In A-level Art, Craft and Design you will work in the area of 2D Fine Art, plus at least one of the following areas: Textile Design, Graphic Communication, Photography. A ‘mixed-media’ approach is encouraged. The topics studied on this course are: • research and contextual understanding • Visual language and creativity • Skills and techniques across a wide range of media • Selecting personal and meaningful subjects/themes • Portfolio presentation
