Course summary

This course allows you to learn, develop and practice the knowledge and skills required for employment in the aeronautical engineering sector. The course combines classroom activities with practical lessons allowing you to put the theory into practice. Year 1: Engineering Principles; Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team; Product Design & Manufacture; Applied Commercial & Quality Principles; Electronic Devices & Circuits; Manufacturing Secondary Machine Processes; Computer Aided Design (CAD) and you will undertake work experience in the engineering sector. Year 2: Engineering Project; Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems; Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines; Dynamic Principles & Practice; Aircraft Flight Principles & Practices; Fabrication Manufacturing Processes; Aircraft Propulsion Systems and Microcontoller Systems for Engineers.

Entry requirements

You need five GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A* to C) including English language, maths and science or a Level 2 Diploma at Merit or Distinction Level in Engineering. You will also be required to attend an interview.
