Mathematics is a challenging subject which stimulates our curiosity and enables us to make sense of the world. Mathematics is vitally important to the economic well-being of our society through its widespread application to science, technology, business and finance. It is one of the most highly valued subjects offered at A-Level for both universities and future employers as it demonstrates that you have enhanced your reasoning and problem-solving skills. A-level mathematics fits well with almost any combination of subjects, particularly the sciences, business, economics, IT and computing, and offers wide progression opportunities to university or vocational careers. Those with A-Level Mathematics earn on average around 10% more than those without (around £240,000 over an average lifetime).
• The minimum entry criteria for our Level 3 Pathways is at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent • A-Level Pathway must include mathematics or English • Grade 6 in GCSE Maths and a pass in the Algebra Entrance Assessment
All assessment is done by written exam at the end of the two-year course. The examination is a combination of both pure and applied elements of the course.
