This course is designed for those wanting to work in the farming industry. The course combines both the theory and practical aspects of crop and livestock management. It covers the practical applications of agriculture as well as the advanced aspects designed to give you a broad spectrum of knowledge. A period of supported external industrial placement is an integral part of the course allowing you to work in a variety of agriculture establishments. You will get hands on with the lambing of the college ewes, calving, farrowing and daily care of all the college farm livestock including working closely with the farm veterinary surgeons.
5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English or Maths. Science (Combined or Biology) not lower than a grade 3. Or a pass in the subject at level 2, with English and Maths not lower than a grade 3.
Assessment is by internally assessed coursework along with externally set and marked exams.
