Government and Politics
Course summary
In Year 12 you will learn about UK Government and Politics, including the UK's key institutions such as parliament, the office of Prime Minister, political parties and the UK constitution. You will also learn about what influences how people vote and the strengths and weaknesses of first past the post, the UK electoral system. In Year 13, students learn about different political beliefs and ideologies and then consider these ideologies in action. All of the above is brought to life and made more realistic by following current affairs and having the opportunity to visit parliament.
