Biology involves the study of a wide range of exciting topics. They range from molecular biology to the study of ecosystems and from micro-organisms to mammoths. Biology is never far from the news headlines either! The A Level is a two-year course which comprises eight topics: Biological molecules Cells The Exchange of Substances from Organisms to Their Environment Genetic Information, Variation and Relationships Between Organisms Energy Transfers in and Between Organisms Changes to Organisms in Their Internal and External Environments Genetics, Populations, Evolution and Ecosystems The Control of Gene Expression

Entry requirements

- A grade 6 in GCSE Science or Biology - All A Levels courses require a minimum grade 4 in English and Maths

How you'll be assessed

The A Level is assessed after two years with three written exams lasting 2 hours each. Each exam carries equal weight. There is no coursework.
