We are proud to be able to deliver a choice of three bespoke vocational sports course. They are refreshing and exciting, up to date, engaging, suitable for the needs of students in 2023 and delivered by a team of first class staff that know how to get the best out of students and consistently achieve some of the best results in the county. The OCR Cambridge Technicals in Sport and Physical activity are UCAS recognised academic qualification designed to prepare students for both employment and further education in the Sport and Physical Activity sector. Technical qualifications suit students who are more practically minded. This is because there are a range of assessment methods for each of the units. Practical evidence, videos, written reports, short exams, PowerPoint presentations, digital posters and coaching sessions and work placements are some of the various method used to assess students’ knowledge and understanding. We will actively encourage our sports students to gain work experience within the PE department helping in PE classes with KS3 students to gain valuable coaching and leadership experience. These courses will provide learners with the opportunity to develop the core knowledge, skills and understanding required by the sport and physical activity sector and to develop further skills by completing a wide range of units through a choice of specialist pathways. The diploma and extended diploma provide the students with an immediate means into employment in the sports industry if university is not the desired outcome
- Grade 4 or above in GCSE English. Preferably but not essential students have completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Cambridge National in Sport Studies. - General entry requirement: 5 GCSEs grade 4+ including Maths and English
