Course summary

Studying A-Level Physical Education will give you a fantastic insight into the amazing world of sports performance. The combination of physical performance and academic challenge provides an exciting opportunity for students in this course. You will learn how the body responds to exercise, explore the psychology behind elite performance, as well as delve into the ethical considerations behind the use of drugs and the influence of modern technology on physical activity and sport. Students who study A-level PE have the potential to progress to a degree course within a sports, fitness or leisure subject area. This course would support students in achieving their career ambitions of becoming a sports scientist, coach, physiotherapist, sports psychologist, nutritionist or sports administrator. With opportunities also in education, Services and working within national governing bodies, there is endless potential! This course matches particularly well with Human Biology, Sociology and Psychology. Within the Sixth Form, there will be a wide variety of additional opportunities available to all students. Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 x 5s. Minimum of a 4 in English and Maths. 6 in PE if taken at GCSE. Students must be competing in a sport at club level.
