You will be aware that our sources of fossil fuels are becoming limited and our planet is getting warmer. Scientists are going to be crucial in fuelling our future. Find out how the hydrogen fuel cell works, learn more about how and why chemicals behave in the way that they do and study chemistry. Even if a lab is not the environment for you, it is important to remember that there is a whole host of careers in chemistry that do not require you to wear a white coat. WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? • Foundation chemistry • Chemistry in action • Kinetics, equilibria and organic chemistry • Energetics, redox and inorganic chemistry • Investigative skills analysis A-level chemistry will prepare you for a whole host of careers such as medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary science and forensic science.
Students who don’t achieve a grade 4 or equivalent in GCSE English and maths must continue to study them in the 6th form.
