The qualification provides a coherent introduction to the study of creative digital media production at this level. You will develop an understanding of the media industry through analysing media representations and pitching and producing media projects. The units of study are: 1 Media Representations 4 Pre-Production Portfolio 8 Responding to a commission 12 Website Design (this is the optional one)
To be accepted onto this course, you will need a good attendance and punctuality record, and have a profile of at least 5 GCSE’s at grade 4, or have successfully passed a BTEC at Level 2. It is not a requirement that you have studied Creative Media before, but you should also have an interest in digital media production.
There are a total of 4 units to complete over a 2 year period; there are 3 mandatory units and 1 optional; 2 out of the 3 mandatory units are externally assessed by Edexcel, 1 of which is a coursework task and the other is an examination.
