English Language and Literature

Course summary

This course combines aspects of the English Language and English Literature courses to study a range of texts and topics. You will study: Travel writing and speech Imagined worlds in fiction The poetic voice Conflict in drama and re-creative approaches to literary texts. You will also study how language varies by exploring a large range of non-fiction texts in spoken, written and digital forms. By the end of this course you will have undertaken a research essay comparing literary and non-literary texts.
