Course summary

Year 1 Portfolio of work (60%) To produce a collection of work that provides evidence of: - Research - Development of ideas - Creativity - Critical and contextual understanding Externally set assignment (40%) To produce a personal response to an exam question set by the exam board. There will be preparation time and a 10 hour supervised practical exam. Year 2 Personal Investigation (60%) You will continue your work and investigations that you covered in year 1 but in much greater depth and as part of this students will conduct a practical investigation into an idea, issue, concept or theme and support the practical aspect with a 1000-3000 word essay. Externally set assignment (40%) Following a period of preparation and investigation based on an exam question, students will then undertake a 15 hour supervised practical exam.
