The course is aimed at students who have an interest in ‘the way society works”. It will help you to develop a multi perspective and critical approach to understanding issues around culture, identity, crime, education and social power.
Students wishing to apply for Sociology need to have achieved a Level 4 in English Language GCSE. In addition, the commitment, attitude and effort that the student brings to the course will have a major impact on their success.
A level students complete three written exams. Each is worth 80 marks and the time given for each paper is two hours. Upon completion students will get an overall mark and grade out of 240. This means each paper is worth 1/3 of their overall grade.
