Course summary

Units of study on this popular course include: safeguarding and protection in Health and Social Care; equality, diversity and rights; and human growth and development. You will also experience a variety of modules designed to improve your employability prospects and progression skills. Within the mandatory units you will explore codes of practice, whistleblowing, real life scenarios and case studies as well as exploring how to safeguard yourself when working in the sector. There will be the opportunity to look at the different stages of life, significant events and a persons care needs at each point. The employability modules look at mental health and wellbeing, team and independent working and a basic introduction to first aid in the setting.

Entry requirements

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English and maths at grade 3. A clear DBS check will also be required.

How you'll be assessed

You need to produce a portfolio of evidence and all units within these qualifications are internally graded A* - D. Some assessments are practically orientated where you have to demonstrate the skills, qualities and behaviours associated with the workplace.
