This applied science course is intended to provide an educational foundation for those wishing to pursue a career in biomedical sciences. Key areas covered include medical science, biology, applied science and medicine. This is a two-year, full time course equivalent to three A Levels. Not only will you study modules focusing on biology, chemistry, physics and biomedical sciences, you will also develop transferable skills that are highly sought after by both universities and employers alike. For example, your evaluation and analysis skills will be developed through the biomedical based modules. Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English Language, Mathematics and double Science. Grade 4 in English Language and Mathematics will be considered as long as the other entry requirements are met. Entry to this course can also be gained by achieving a Merit on the Level 2 Science course at HSDC.
You will study on a continuous programme over the two years where you will be assessed through assignments, practical work, presentations and group based tasks. This will assess your knowledge and skill in the subjects that are being undertaken. At the end of each piece of work you will be graded with either a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
