This qualification is designed to support learners who are interested in a two-year course that meets entry requirements for a course in computer-related study at higher education. The qualification enables learners to explore a choice of sector areas, enabling progression to either higher education or employment in the computing sector. Throughout the course you will be expected to use your programming knowledge to create a variety of different programs. We aim to teach you a variety of different programming languages such as python, C# and PHP. BTEC Computing involves identifying a problem and coming up with a technological solution to address it. The ability to solve complex problems in a systematic and logical way. Youll be working to take a concept and turn it into a reality.
Grade 4 in Computer Science or Grade 4 in Maths.
You will have a written test in Year 12 and another in Year 13. Both tests you can have 2 attempts at (One in January and one in June) You will have coursework to complete in Year 12 and another in Year 13 Year 12 you have to complete the IT Systems Security and Encryption coursework.
