Course summary

• You will undertake an EPQ project, mostly independently, consisting of either a dissertation, an investigation, a performance or an artefact. • It will provide opportunities for the development of critical, reflective, problemsolving, communication and independent learning skills. • You will engage in stimulating debates about current affairs. • You will be taught how to conduct academic research of a high standard involving the collection of material, formatting a bibliography, logically linking and evaluating sources. • You will have lessons in extending the quality of academic writing. • As part of the course you will learn how to plan and manage a project with guidance from members of staff. • You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver a professional vivastyle oral presentation.

Entry requirements

- Minimum prior attainment which must be achieved to enrol on this course: APS of 5.5, including grade 5 or above in English - Best 8 APS of 5.5+, including grade 5 in GCSE English & Maths. If you have studied a subject at GCSE and wish to study it at A Level, a minimum of a grade 5 pass is required.
