Art and Design (Photography)
Course summary

During this 2 year course, students will engage in creating artwork using a camera. During this time you will develop a set of visual personal annotated responses to your chosen themes and your work targets will be negotiated with your course teachers. Your learning outcomes will be presented in A2-size portfolios. You will be taught how to utilize new digital media to enhance your photographic practice and allow it to be seen by a global audience. The contextual emphasis for the course will be endemic and your work will be critiqued weekly in individual tutorials. Your contextual evidence base will take the form of annotated entries in your portfolio as your work develops, you will review, critique, and evaluate all outcomes on every page of your folder work. You will analyze and interpret the work of artists, photographers, designers, and or craftspersons, from Western and non-Western cultures. You will learn how to understand and make stimulating visual responses to the work of others in the form of personal visual outcomes. You will develop a personal portfolio of work by using a range of techniques, materials, and a variety of media.

Entry requirements

Achieve at least five grade 5-9 (including Maths and English).
