This A-level aims to give students access to the principles of design, understanding the ways designers think and work. You will have opportunity to use our dedicated CAD/CAM suite during independent study time. You need to be able to work independently, adhere to strict deadlines and achieve high quality outcomes in all aspects of work. A keen interest in design technological issues and be motivated to develop CAD/CAM skills.
You will be required to produce a coursework portfolio and product that fully demonstrates your designing, making and evaluation skills using your creativity, flair and innovation and that can be assessed against the assessment criteria. At the end of the course you will sit a written paper. Candidates will be able to select questions across the range of focus material areas. This written/designing exam will focus on core learning and responses to a given design situation
