Course summary

Classics is one of the most interdisciplinary subjects in the curriculum. It offers rich opportunities for those interested in Language, Literature, Drama, History, Archaeology and Philosophy. Latin itself provides training in a wide variety of transferable skills. It is a challenging, but highly regarded subject to offer in University applications. The OCR A Level in Latin builds on the GCSE, introducing students to a greater range of vocabulary, accidence, and syntax. This requires the detailed study of prose and verse literature, inspiring and motivating learners to gain a deeper understanding of the life and culture of the ancient world. Latin is offered at A Level subject to student numbers.
