Course summary

The course seeks to encourage the study and enjoyment of Language and Literature and the ways that they complement each other. In this respect, it is a natural progression from GCSE English, incorporating the study of a wide and diverse range of texts and the consideration of how meanings are created for a particular audience. At the same time, the course will develop skills in using language for a variety of purposes. Entry requirements

GCSEs graded 9 to 7 in English Language AND English Literature.

How you'll be assessed

Year 12 Level English Language and Literature will be assessed through examinations. In Year 13 students will be required to complete a Non-exam Assessment (NEA) and will be assessed through two terminal examinations.
