The newly developed T Level in Hair is an exciting opportunity if you are looking to become a hairdresser. This two-year programme has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares you for work. You will gain the skills, knowledge and expertise required to work within the Hair industry completing over 300 hours of work experience. T-Levels are equivalent to 3 A levels giving you UCAS points to progress onto higher education. The core content of this course focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the hair sector, supporting you to gain the transferable and core skills you will require within the hair industry. You will cover a range of topics including shampooing, styling, setting, cutting, colouring, hair up and advanced techniques to name a few.
A minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above including Maths and English (or equivalents).
The T Level in Hair core content is assessed through two written examinations and a substantial practical employer-set project. The occupational specialism (hair) is assessed through written exams and observations of your practice.
