This Installation / Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16. Apprentices will gain the skills and knowledge to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the installation and maintenance of electrotechnical systems. Electricians fit, test and repair electrical installations found in homes and businesses. This could include, fitting consumer units and circuit breakers, connecting wiring to sockets, switches and light fittings and installing fire alarms. On successful completion apprentices will have achieved the industry desired level of competence required to carry out the specific roles.
It is desirable that you have 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C (9-4) including English, maths and science. All applicants will be required to pass an assessment and be aged 16 or over, already be employed or have secured a work placement. If you are aged 16-18 and unable to find an apprenticeship, you can apply for a study programme and switch over at any point when you do find one.
