This Level 3 Construction Support Technician (CST) Apprenticeship is available to anyone aged over 16. CST apprentices attending LCB will complete a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and Built Environment (CBE) on day release alongside working in industry for the remainder of the week undertaking 20% off-the-job training. Construction Support Technicians can be employed by large organisations such as major national housebuilding contractors, building services and civil engineering contractors, as well as small and medium-sized contractors and subcontractors such as ground-workers, roofing companies, plasterers and decorators together with a host of other specialised construction areas. Work is often in an exciting and dynamic environment which could be office-based or on a construction site. Technicians often support construction teams with estimating, quantity surveying, planning, design and site roles. They interpret, analyse, contribute, and directly assist construction contracting professionals working with a wide range of projects, regularly interacting with internal and external customers. The apprentice will also complete an online portfolio of evidence which demonstrates that each of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in the Standard, have been met in readiness for the End Point Assessment (EPA). This online portfolio of evidence will be supervised by in-company mentors and LCB assessors. Once the apprentice gets to the gateway confirmed by their employer, they will need to undertake an EPA. Completion of the apprenticeship standard will be confirmed following the satisfactory conclusion of the EPA.
4 GCSEs at grade 4 and above including Maths and English.
