An A-Level in Further Maths is a pathway into exploring the rich patterns that underlie our universe, indeed every conceivable universe. The course extends Pure Maths skills in A-Level Maths connecting algebraic and graphical representations of functions to a general understanding of polynomials and their roots. It introduces the concepts of matrices and complex numbers thereby exponentially increasing the amount of dimensions mathematics can be explored in. More than this the idea of proof is formally established and used offering a clearer perspective on what professional mathematicians practically do. This compulsory element is supplemented by a choice of modules selected from Statistics, Mechanics, Discrete and Further Pure.
Grade 8 or above in GCSE Maths (must also be taking A-Level Mathematics)
100% examination
