History

Course summary

History is about people, their ambitions, successes and failures. It is about trying to understand why people acted in a certain way and why some events can change the direction of a nation, or even an entire continent. The A level course at MCA6 enables students to study the history of more than one country or state, as well as the study of British History. In addition to this, students will undertake a thematic study, which covers an extended period of history of approximately 100 years; and the coursework element enables students to explore an area of a topic that they are particularly interested in. Through the study of History, we aim to captivate learners and develop a desire within them to continue learning beyond the confines of the classroom.
