Course summary

The world of sports science! All you need to bring with you is a willingness to learn and a winning attitude. Use your sporting skills as part of your NEA. You will be taught by 3 highly qualified and experienced teachers to guide you through the exams and NEA. Our A-level Physical Education qualification allows you to play to your strengths and utilise your physical sporting skills to influence your overall grade whilst gaining dynamic theoretical and practical skills for further education or work that will last a lifetime. You will be taught a myriad of stimulating topics which will suit your understanding of sport and PE. All theories taught will be able to be turned into understanding easily as we can relate them to you and your sport. You will be looking at anatomy and physiology and how the body copes with the demands of sporting activity whilst coupling this knowledge and understanding to the fantastic biomechanics section of the course where we can see how and why objects move at different speeds. You will also look at the fascinating element of how we learn and improve skills through the psychological aspect of the course skill acquisition then take a journey into how the psychology of the athlete may positively or negatively affect performance. We also delve into the world of technology in sports and look at how this area has enhanced our sporting experiences.
