The course is designed to provide students with opportunities to investigate personal coursework in response to various project themes and ideas. The work is developed through responding to the work of other artist, experimenting with media, recording ideas and creating final pieces. The course offers maximum flexibility for students to work on their strengths. Students will follow guidelines that allow them to bring together practical, critical and theoretical study using a variety of different materials and processes. Here at All Saints we aim to develop students problem solving skills and ability to think around the theme, which we believe will stand them in good stead for higher or further education. At the same time they will become more visually literate, a valuable skill in todays society. With the creative sector as the fastest growing industry in the UK, students will become skilled in a subject that is in high demand.
5 GSCEs Grade 4-9 including Mathematics and English Language and a grade 5 in GCSE in any creative subject including Art, Graphic Design, Textiles, Three Dimensional Design and Photography.
Assessment The two components at A level are assessed internally and moderated externally. The final component is an externally set assignment which includes a 15 hour examination.
