Course summary
A Level Fine Art offers the opportunity to explore your imagination and develop a range of practical creative skills, taking inspiration through the research of art and design practitioners. We offer a caring, supportive environment where we will enable you to flourish. We will support you in challenging your creativity, and developing self-awareness, independent thought, inquisitiveness, risk-taking and Independence. During this two-year course, you will experience a variety of media, techniques, and processes in both two and three dimensions. You will also explore the work of artists and designers, both past and present. The first year will provide a strong foundation to develop skills in a broad range of areas including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, digital photography, and digital photography. During the second year, you will be able to specialise in a narrower range of disciplines depending on your ideas and strengths. Coursework projects allow for independent and personalised responses and will develop you as a creative individual, fully equipped with the skills required for further study.
