Course summary

The course is focused on aspects of modern history not covered at GCSE. The aim of the course is to develop an interest in, and enthusiasm for, history whilst acquiring an understanding of different identities within society and an appreciation of aspects such as social, cultural, religious and ethnic diversity

Entry requirements

In order to enter the Sixth Form, it is a requirement that you attain an average of Grade 4 from your Key Stage 4 courses and meet the individual subject requirements. It is also a requirement that you will have achieved at least a Grade 4 in Mathematics and English at GCSE level.

How you'll be assessed

Germany and West Germany written examination, lasting2 1/4 hours (30%) Spain 1930-78 written examination, lasting 1 1/2 hours (20%) Tudors written examination, lasting 2 1/4 hours (30%) Coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated. You will complete a single assignment on a question set by the school. The assignment will assess your ability to carry out an historical enquiry, analysing and evaluating historical interpretations, organising and communicating findings (20%)
