This qualification will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress into higher education on a business-related programme such as Business, Business Management, Marketing, Business and Finance, Business and Economics, Accounting, and the Certificate or Diploma in Human Resource Management. It will also allow learners to choose non-business-related degree programmes.
Merit in Business or Grade 4 in English Language or Literature
Students are expected to build portfolios of evidence for each optional unit studied as well as prepare for two external exams (entitled to one re-sit). The optional units are internally assessed and externally moderated. The assessment of units can take place at a time that is appropriate for students and the school (i.e. a student can present a unit for assessment as required). Students will be awarded the following grades if successful: Pass – equivalent to grade E at A-level Merit – equivalent to grade C at A-level Distinction – equivalent to grade A at A-level Distinction* – equivalent to grade A* at A-level
