Are you interested in studying how the criminal mind works? Do you want to learn more around the sociology of crime and punishment? This applied diploma course in Criminology along with a certificate in Law provides you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge of crime; learning theories and applying these to real life case studies and historical criminal cases. This course is for you if you are looking to pursue a career in Criminology or looking to progress onto HE Level Criminology. Those who successfully complete their programme will achieve a nationally recognised qualification at the appropriate level. As this is a one year course you can also study a first/second year in another related subject such as Psychology to support your step into HE/employment.
This course is predominantly for 16-19 year olds. 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and maths.
You will be assessed in a range of methods, including internal assessments such as written assignments and presentations as well as some externally assessed exams.
