Course summary

Mathematics is one of the biggest facilitating subjects. As well as being a stimulating subject in its own right, Mathematics is an essential A Level course for many higher education courses and careers in science, technology and engineering and a highly desirable qualification for other courses in areas such as economics, geography, psychology and business. In Pure Mathematics, students will study topics including sequences and series, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, exponentials and logarithms, vectors, proof and calculus. Excellent algebraic skills will be essential for success in these areas. For the Applied element of the course, students cover a range of topics in both Mechanics and Statistics.
