Course summary

Religion, philosophy and ethics have always been closely related. Religious traditions play an important role in shaping the way that we approach questions like, ‘What does it mean to be human?’ and ‘What is justice?’ The A level programme is assessed by three exam papers at the end of Year 13. PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION • Arguments about the existence and non-existence of God. • The challenge for religious belief of the problem of evil. RELIGIOUS ETHICS • Euthanasia, business ethics, sexual ethics & conscience. DEVELOPMENTS IN CHRISTIAN THOUGHT • Death & the afterlife, gender & society, gender & theology, & the challenge of secularism
