Entry requirements

Apprentices commencing on this programme have usually already achieved Level 2 AAT. Depending on the results of an initial skills scan - apprentices may be able to fast track onto Level 3, by attending 2 modules of the Bookkeeping programme to ensure their readiness for Level 3 AAT studies. Individual employers will set their own selection criteria. This will typically include a minimum of Level 2 Maths and English. Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment. Those who have already gained their AAT Level 2 can still undertake the apprenticeship but the duration would be shorter. Anyone of any age, from any background, can undertake an apprenticeship in Accounting if they have the right attitude, passion, stamina and commitment to learning - even if this means re-training in a new area of work.

How you'll be assessed

You will be assessed by Module tests and exams for the AAT Level 3. The additional work for the apprenticeship comprises collection of evidence in the workplace, a reflective portfolio along with preparation for End Point Assessment.
