Additionally, students study several developmental units such as developing presentation skills, research skills and using ICT. Lessons are discussion-orientated which will help develop and hone communication skills and build confidence. The course is designed for mature students who may have been out of education for some considerable time, and there is a strong focus on building a diversity of skills, not just academic but also practical skills such as confidence building, teamwork and organisation skills.
