This course is for those who have a strong interest in History, Politics and global affairs. Students will learn why the world is as it is and how it is has been shaped by the past. Students should have a passion for enquiry and argument and an insatiable appetite for reading. They need an analytical, questioning mind, and the confidence to express their opinions in class discussion, backed up by historical evidence. Key areas of study are Tudor England and International Relations in the Twentieth Century as well as an Independent Investigation, where students devise their own question on a topic of their choosing, and then write an analytical essay in response.
Waddesdon Points System to enter the Sixth Form explained in the prospectus. Minimum of 5 in GCSE History and 5 in GCSE English Language.
Two 2 hour 30 minute exam papers (80%) and an NEA/independent investigation (20%).
