Why choose this course? Anyone who enjoys Design and problem solving: Design and Technology is an interdisciplinary subject which is designed to be student focussed. It firstly leads to the study of Design and Technology at university, but has been designed to be a complimentary subject to Maths, Physics Art and design; or as a contrasting subject with English, History, Geography and Modern Languages.
A minimum of 5 GCSE passes (including both English and Mathematics) at Grade 4 or higher. Grade 6 in a GCSE Design Technology subject.
Unit 1 - 2 hours 30 minutes written paper assessing Technical Principles. 30% ‘A’ Level Unit 2 – 1 hour 30 minutes written paper assessing Product analysis and commercial manufacture. 20% ‘A’ Level Unit 3 – NEA (coursework design and make project – student generated design brief) 50% ‘A’ Level
