Law is an interesting and exciting topic that develops your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will cover a wide range of topics such as negligence, police powers, and in-depth criminal law. Taking Law will not prevent you from going to university to study Law at a higher level. In the first year, the units are as follows: Unit 1 – Dispute Solving in Civil Law (examined unit) Unit 2 – Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law and the Legal System (assignment unit) In the second year, the units are as follows: Unit 3 – Applying the Law (examined unit) Unit 6 – Aspects of Tort Law (assignment unit)
At least 4-5 GCSEs graded 9-4 including English at grade 4 or above.
50% Coursework and 50% exam for the Certificate, in the second year, Extended Certificate 25% Coursework and 75% Exam.
