Course summary

Sociology is the study of people within society; giving you the opportunity to attempt to understand how society works. Within this course you will study social groups and systems whilst gaining a deeper understanding of the world around you, investigating social issues that are often relevant to your own experiences. Progression from this course includes studying Sociology or inter-related courses at Higher Education level or careers in: national and local government, social work, nursing, police and social research. Over the duration of this course, you will study: • Socialisation • Culture & Identity • Researching & Understanding Social Inequalities • Debates in Contemporary Society

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs (minimum grade 4 or equivalent), to include Mathematics (minimum grade 4) and English (minimum grade 5 or equivalent).
